About this Event

During this full-day seminar, you'll hear from the creator of the ELT Method, Sohee Lee, MS, CSCS, CISSN and her assistant coaches, physical therapist Steph Dorworth, and personal trainer Myra Victa.

In this seminar, Sohee will be discussing evidence-based dietary interventions for physique change, training methods to maximize your time in the gym, and the psychology of behavior change. Steph will be presenting on the anatomy of the squat. The afternoon session will be followed by a full practical demonstration where attendees will get hands-on experience performing lifts under the guidance of Sohee and her assistant coach, Myra Victa.

Training and Nutrition Considerations for Body Composition and Strength

Sohee's presentation will cover the latest evidence-based research on the best training methodology to optimize body composition and strength. Sohee will go over topics including training frequency, volume, exercise selection, rest periods, and more. Fitness professionals and fitness enthusiasts alike will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to tailor variables to the individual and make the best use of their own and their clients' time in the gym.

Furthermore, this lecture will discuss the importance of dietary adherence and incremental behavior change and will equip fitness professionals with practical, evidence-based tools to help their clients stick to their diets. An overview of popular diet strategies, such as intuitive eating and intermittent fasting, will also be included.

The Anatomy of the Squat

Steph's presentation will cover variations in the lower body anatomy with emphasis on the hips, knees, and ankles. Squat mechanics will be covered in detail along with modifications that may be considered as necessary. Anatomic variations and squat mechanics will be tied together by transitioning into a practical portion, which will include a dynamic mobility warm-up, squat practice utilizing modifications covered in the seminar, and case studies. If time remains, there may be a Q&A session.

Training Practical

Sohee and Myra will go over the bench press, deadlift, and hip thrust in detail. They will demonstrate proper form and common mistakes and will also discuss how to tweak technique to fit the individual. Active participation is encouraged and breakout sessions will be included, so all participants can practice these lifts.

There will be opportunity to critique form on other exercises as time permits.
